Biography
Tide I is the latest project from experienced local musician Darren Guthrie, a seasoned performer with over 15 years in the live music scene. Darren has been performing since 2010 across a wide variety of acts and has toured Australia since 2014 with his original project Guthrie / Guthrie Trio, entertaining audiences at events and festivals nationwide.
Created with the intention of pure enjoyment and audience connection, Tide I focuses on covering the songs that shaped Darren’s musical upbringing throughout the 1990s and 2000s — the era of MTV, TV Hits, and Rage. While the project primarily appeals to a 30–50 year demographic, the repertoire remains family-friendly and spans generations, with select classics from the 1950s through to the 1980s included.
Tide I delivers a diverse and crowd-pleasing setlist covering Pop, Rock, Punk, Country, and Blues, featuring songs that audiences instantly recognise and love. The performance style is upbeat, engaging, and designed to keep crowds singing along, dancing, and leaving with a smile.
