Biography
Performing as String and Bone is joined by Karri Harper-Meredith (on trombone, harmonium and synth) and Alex Hey (on cello and steel guitar). Karri A musical maverick Karri also plays with jazz based Junkadelic and high energy Feel Estate while Alex plays with both orchestra and chamber orchestra.
Karri brings funk and groove to Tim’s folk while Alex brings his classical training to add a touch of class.
The trio uses an eclectic collection of musical instruments and styles into an unlikely yet engaging new sound. String and Bone is to folk music what peanut-butter and jelly is to primary school lunches.
String and Bone combines thought-provoking lyrical story telling with vocal harmonies and some folk funk fusion. Quirky, funny, heartfelt and always interesting, they will leave you with happy ears, a warm feeling in your belly and catchy earworms rolling around in your brain long after the performance echoes fade away.
