JANE LAWS
Biography
Jane Laws is a Fremantle based singer-songwriter who enjoys writing about the places she has been and the folks she has met along the way. Musically Jane writes thought provoking folk-roots tunes, flavoured with pop, jazz, blues, country and a touch of comedy.
Jane began her musical career playing the clarinet in the Tasmanian Junior Youth Orchestra and by her teens had adopted the guitar and was writing her original songs.
In 1996, Jane came to the spotlight with her folk ballad, Seaflight, a tribute to Perth teenager, David Dicks, who was sailing solo, nonstop around the world. Jane performed to over 10,000 people at the Fremantle dockside welcome for David.
Record label, Seeing Ear Records, in conjunction with Pocket Universe Recording Studio, sponsored Jane by producing her first album, Gypsy Traveller.
Jane continues her song writing journey and has released five albums of original songs.
