Dilip Parekh

Dilip Parekh is an Indian/Irish Fremantle based musician who began his musical odyssey later in life than is usually the case.  With his band Dilip n the DAVs he has recorded 8 albums and several EPs for which there were WAM nominations and also a song of the year award.  He performs regularly as solo artist and also with his lounge style acoustic trio – Charlie Carters, as well as with the 5/6 piece band The DAVs.  Dilip has been the songwriter and singer for the band since they started in 2005.

He has a prolific output of songs across many genres including blues, roots, funk, reggae, ska, soul, lounge jazz and more recently he has immersed himself in the traditional and contemporary folk music of his birthplace, Ireland.  To him, music is a smorgasbord,  so it makes sense to try everything, and not just fill up on a single dish.
