Guitarist Soorohun Kim

Soorohun Kim is a South Korean guitarist based in Western Australia, recognized for his expressive performances across fingerstyle, classical, and modern electric guitar. Inspired by Tommy Emmanuel, he began his career in fingerstyle guitar, later expanding into classical music and metal genres, showcasing both emotional depth and technical precision.

Awards and Achievements:
•    2nd Place – Acoustic Guitar Hero (Korea, 2008)
•    Grand Prize – Yamaha Acoustic Contest (Korea, 2009)
•    Yamaha Acoustic Korea Endorser (2015)
•    Main Award – Jeonju MBC Ultimate Music Festival (Korea, 2017) with band Hemeets
•    3rd Place – Noosa Busking Championship (Queensland, Australia, 2019)
•    3rd Place – Lancelin Busking Festival (Western Australia, 2023)
•    1st Place – Lancelin Busking Festival (Western Australia, 2025)

He previously performed as a resident guitarist at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Korea, and since relocating to Australia, he has performed regularly at venues including DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Lancelin Sands Hotel, Northam Rec Hotel,  Temperance Bar Northam & Mr Basil’s.

Soorohun continues to develop his artistry by blending the sensitivity of acoustic guitar with the power of modern electric styles, maintaining a deep dedication to musical expression and craftsmanship.
